Outsourced staff seek regular job
Employees working on outsourcing basis have urged both national parties — the BJP and the Congress — to mention their main demand of job regularisation in their poll manifestos.
Yashpal, president of the HP Outsourced Union, said both parties had failed to make a policy for the regularisation of their jobs.
He alleged that private agencies were violating labour laws as employees were being forced to work for more than 10 hours everyday and were still underpaid.
The union demanded that such employees should be given minimum monthly wages of Rs 16,000. It also sought other benefits.
