OTE Group launches 5G services in Greece

ATHENS: OTE Group, Greece’s biggest telecom operator, has launched 5G services in Athens and other big cities, it said on Thursday.

OTE, which is 46% owned and managed by Deutsche Telekom , said that its mobile business, COSMOTE, was the first to provide its subscribers with 5G offerings in Athens, Thessaloniki and other cities with speed exceeding 1Gbps.

The announcement came a day after Greece auctioned 5G mobile frequencies for a total of 372 million euros.
