Optiemus forms joint venture with Corning International Corp to make cover glass parts

Indian contract manufacturer Optiemus Infracom and US-based Corning International Corp have formed a 70:30 joint venture to set up the country’s first facility for producing finished cover glass parts for the mobile consumer electronics industry.

While financial details of the deal were not disclosed, Optiemus will hold 70% in the JV and Corning International the balance 30%, the Indian contract manufacturer said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Friday. The manufacturing facility will be situated in Noida and is expected to be operational from 2024.
