Oppo’s sub-brand Reno announced in China

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has announced a new sub-brand in China. Called the Reno, its logo was shared by the company’s Vice President Brian Shen on Chinese microblogging website, Weibo. The post further states that the company will launch first device under the new lineup on April 10.

The new sub-brand is said to be largely aimed at the youth. Image of the logo shared on Weibo reads ‘I’m Reno’ with the word Reno filled with multiple colours. The company is expected to competitively price the smartphones under Reno sub-brand. There is no word yet if whether the sub-brand’s devices will come to India or not.

For those unaware, Realme is an existing sub-brand of the Chinese firm. It was introduced in 2018 and the first phone under the lineup was launched in May that year. In July same year, it was reported that Realme has separated from Oppo to function as an independent brand.
