Oppo sets up camera innovation lab in India to develop localized features, AI camera solutions

NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Oppo Monday said it has set up a Camera Innovation lab at its Hyderabad R&D centre to develop localized features, camera solutions that use Artificial Intelligence (AI), and to focus on developing imaging software.

The lab will work to test phone cameras in artificially recreated scenes and analyze data produced from those samples.

The lab is equipped with specialized machines to test various light sources, across various photography/videography scenarios, and aims to improve device performance through optimizations to the camera technology, Oppo said in a statement.
