OneWeb, BT Group partner for satcom services

NEW DELHI: UK-based telecoms company BT and OneWeb Tuesday said they have signed a Distribution Partner deal under which the Bharti-backed low-earth-orbit satellite communications (satcom) company will provide its services across BT Group.

Today’s development builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the companies in June 2020 to explore the delivery of connectivity services to rural locations of the UK and abroad.

BT said it will test capabilities in its Bristol lab to demonstrate how LEO services integrate with its existing terrestrial services.
