OnePlus smartphone users have this ‘WhatsApp problem’
OnePlus smartphone users are facing massive battery draining issues. As per users’ complaints, WhatsApp has been spotted consuming more than 40% of their battery life even after hardly using the app. Several users of the Chinese smartphone maker that leads the premium smartphone market in India are complaining about the issue on Reddit and Google Play Store. Complaints have also been raised on the official OnePlus Forum.
OnePlus users that have reported the issue started facing this it after WhatsApp’s latest 2.19.308 update was rolled out. Battery drainage has been reported on both Android 9.0 Pie and Android 10 operating system. Even restricting the background usage of the messaging app is not helping reduce the battery consumption of the instant messaging app.
Interestingly, some users in the Reddit thread are complaining that they are facing the same issue with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, but the problem seems to be largely a OnePlus-centric problem.
