Old iPhones, iPads will stop working properly if you don’t do this immediately

If you are still using old iPhones or iPads like the iPhone 4s/5 or iPad 2 then note that your device may not work properly going ahead. This is not because Apple wants you dump them but the fact that Apple has stopped providing latest iOS updates for them. When Apple announced the iOS 12.4 update, it mentioned that older iPhones and iPads like these will no longer be supported because the hardware is too old to run new software. Having said that Apple said that it would be rolling a new software update for these older devices to fix the GPS time rollover issue that affects GPS-enabled products.
Fix tackles GPS time rollover issue
So, what is the GPS time rollover issue? For accurate GPS location tracking, GPS signal needs a timestamp. Now, the timestamp uses 10 binary bits to store the number of the week. This binary bit range is between 0 to 1024 weeks. Every 20 years or 1024 weeks, the counter rolls from 1024 to 0. Starting April 6 this year, many GPS-enabled products started to face problems as it could no longer show exact locations.
