Offline smartphone sales surge in March quarter as buyers seek premium feel

New Delhi: Retail stores are cementing their presence in the Indian smartphone market with sales in brick-and-mortar stores surging in the March quarter boosted by rising demand for premium devices.
Share of offline retail in smartphone sales jumped to 61% in the three months ended March 31, from 56% in the December quarter, according to preliminary estimates from Counterpoint Research.
