NTT, Qualcomm team up to invest in 5G ecosystem, drive adoption of AI at the edge
NEW DELHI: NTT Ltd., a Japanese IT infrastructure and services company, and American chipmaker Qualcomm have collaborated to invest and accelerate the development of the 5G device ecosystem to spur private 5G adoption, which will in turn, expedite artificial intelligence (AI) at the edge.
The two companies, under a multi-year agreement, will prioritise the development of 5G-enabled devices to “accelerate innovation with global enterprise customers” which will be a catalyst for growing the widespread enterprise adoption of private 5G, NTT and Qualcomm said in a statement Tuesday, citing an IDC research which estimates the private 5G market’s value to exceed $8 billion by 2026.
