Nokia, Vodafone Hutchison Australia ink partnership to deploy low-band 5G spectrum
NEW DELHI: Australian telecom operator Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) today said it is deploying low-band NR700Mhz spectrum in a test environment in a 5G network in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region with the help of Finnish telecom gear maker Nokia.
The NR700 MHz spectrum deployment complements the telecom operator’s 3.5GHz 5G rollout and is said to enhance VHA’s 5G network coverage, improve indoor coverage and deliver high-speed 5G once it goes live.
Nokia said the solution will utilize its AirScale product range and is currently undergoing testing on some of the VHA’s 5G sites in and around Parramatta in Western Sydney.
