Nokia partners Nigeria’s Spectranet for broadband service

NEW DELHI: Nigerian internet service provider Spectranet and Finnish player Nokia have joined hands to provide Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) based 100+ Mbps ultra broadband services to consumers and business users in Nigeria.

As part of the extensive FTTH rollout, Nokia’s GPON solutions will be deployed to enable high-speed access to customers in Lagos and Abuja cities of Nigeria, said a joint statement.

The offering will allow Spectranet to provide new ultra-broadband services such as 4K HD video streaming and online gaming to residential and enterprise subscribers in the region, it further added.
