Nokia launches next-generation AirScale 5G portfolio powered by ReefShark technology

World’s first 5G network became commercial in April 2019 in Korea and since then a total of 169 operators in 70 countries/territories had launched one or more 3GPP-compliant 5G services, as per GSA report, June 2021. As the 5G usage and traffic continues to grow, there is a demand for higher network capacity and enhanced performance while reducing the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and site footprint.

Right from higher bandwidth support to the number of connected users to higher RF power to energy efficiency through to Single RAN and ease of deployment – Nokia’s newly bolstered AirScale 5G portfolio, launched on 24th June 2021, will effectively address these requirements and enable CSPs to flexibly scale capacity and evolve to 5G from existing technologies, ensuring an efficient TCO.
