Nokia bags 5G SA/NSA deal from Taiwan’s Asia Pacific Telecom

NEW DELHI: Finland-based telecoms gear maker Nokia on Tuesday said it has been selected by Asia Pacific Telecom (APT) as the sole vendor for 5G New Radio (NR). The deal also covers 5G core (standalone/non-standalone), security, and monetization.

Asia Pacific Telecom will deploy high-band 28GHz mmWave in Taiwan to deliver ultra-fast mobile broadband speeds.

Under the deal, Nokia will provide solutions from its AirScale Radio Access solutions portfolio while APT will also deploy Nokia’s software spanning across Core network, monetization, and security.
