No reference from DoT on 26 GHz band yet, says Trai chairman

NEW DELHI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) is yet to get a reference from the telecom department on the pricing of 26 GHz spectrum, its chairman RS Sharma said on Monday.

“We haven’t received any reference from DoT so far,” Sharma said on Monday, when asked about any reference from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on the band.

Late December, the telecom department said it will shortly will seek pricing recommendations from Trai for auctioning the coveted spectrum in 24.75 to 27.25 GHz millimetre wave band, popularly known as the 26 GHz band.
