Nisarga: DoT asks telcos, infrastructure providers to take steps to ensure connectivity

NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Tuesday asked the telecom operators and infrastructure providers to take necessary steps to ensure digital connectivity in Maharasthra and Gujarat where tropical cyclone Nisarga is expected to make landfall.

“In order to ensure telecom connectivity in Maharashtra and Gujarat, the DoT held a meeting with all the telecom service providers, infrastructure providers, Tower & Infrastructure Providers Association (TAIPA) and the Cellular Operators Asociation of India (COAI), the Delhi-based group said.

The two coastal Indian states are on alert as the tropical storm Nisarga is expected to hit on Wednesday.
