NGO moves SC, opposes Vodafone Idea plea seeking correction in AGR dues calculations

Mumbai : Sewa Shram Shakti Foundation, a non governmental organisation, has moved the Supreme Court opposing Vodafone Idea’s (Vi) plea to clarify “errors” in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues. The foundation said Vi’s plea was “baseless”, “frivolous” attempts to overturn the earlier orders of the apex court and there was sufficient time given to the telco to correct any discrepancies in the calculations.

“Despite clear directions from this …court these TSPs are trying to start another round of litigation in gross contempt of this…court. In this manner they feel that the orders of the Supreme Court can be taken for a ride and multiple rounds of litigation can be started to avoid payments by misusing judicial process,” said the petition requesting intervention in Vi’s appeal and the latter’s dismissal.
