New rule calls for higher wages for H-1B visa holders

PUNE: The US Department of Labor will publish a final rule on Thursday increasing wage levels of workers on H-1B visas, as it moves to protect jobs of American workers.

“The US Department of Labor is taking these steps to strengthen wage protections, address abuses in visa programs, and protect American workers from being undercut by cheaper foreign labor,” US Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia said.
