Netflix makes it easy for users with disabilities to browse, understand content: Here’s how
Most of us can simply browse and watch content on OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video very easily. However, for people with vision or hearing impairments accessing content is challenging. Online video streaming service Netflix has features like audio descriptions and closed captions for helping people with such disabilities.
Commenting on these accessibility settings Debra Chinn, Director- International Dubbing, Netflix said, “Making entertainment accessible is important to Netflix. We truly believe everyone should be able to access and enjoy great stories. We started audio description with Marvel’s Daredevil in 2015. Netflix also creates closed captions for all Originals. Today, Netflix offers audio description and closed captions in over 30 languages. We continue to strive for the highest quality in this space.”
