Need guardrails to support ethical AI development, say leaders at Nasscom event

Governments across the world as well as organisations building artificial intelligence tools must erect guardrails to support ethical development of the technology over the next decade, said the speakers at a Nasscom event on Tuesday.

“Even though AI possesses immense transformative potential, it is our responsibility to ensure its increasing transparency. The fusion of human ideals with AI is important. The trajectory of AI in the future will be intricately tied to both human and democratic values,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a written message which was read out at the Nasscom Technology and Leadership Forum 2024. “We remain firmly committed to the responsible and ethical application of AI across diverse fields,” Modi said.
