NEC Corporation opens 5G innovation hub in North America for Open RAN

NEW DELHI: Japanese IT and networks integrator NEC Corporation on Wednesday said that the company has opened a 5G innovation hub in New Jersey in North America with the objective of expanding product development and catering to the growing global demand for Open RAN solutions.

The company has created a new entity, NEC Advanced Networks, born out of NEC’s acquisition of Blue Danube Systems which will be headed by Rahul Chandra.

NEC said the new entity provides a “critical base of operations for the company’s product innovations and solutions delivery activities”.
