Nasscom releases guidelines for responsible AI use

Technology industry body Nasscom on Tuesday released a set of guidelines for defining the “responsible” use of generative artificial intelligence.

The guidelines address obligations for researchers, developers and users of generative AI models and applications, and emphasise conducting comprehensive risk assessments and maintaining internal oversight throughout the entire lifecycle of a generative AI solution. Misinformation, IP infringement, data privacy violation, propagation of biases, large-scale disruption of life and livelihood, environmental degradation and malicious cyberattacks are some of the top harms and malpractices that the guidelines try to mitigate during the use of generative AI.
