Musk’s paywall may hurt Twitter revenue and usage, say experts

Twitter’s new reading paywall, which limits the number of tweets its paying and non-paying customers can read in a day, is detrimental to the microblogging site’s revenue and usage, experts have said.

Twitter Blue subscribers, or verified users, can now read a maximum of 6,000 tweets per day while people who have not paid for Twitter Blue, or unverified users, are limited to reading 600 tweets per day. New unverified accounts will be limited to reading 300 tweets per day, Twitter executive chair Elon Musk said on Saturday. He said the idea is to prevent “extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation”.
