Mumbai: Vodafone Idea pays senior citizen Rs 65,000 for wrong billing

MUMBAI: Telecom operator Vodafone Idea Ltd recently paid compensation of Rs 65,000 to a senior citizen at the directions of a consumer forum, for having incorrectly billed him for two international calls.

The Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Mumbai Suburban, issued an order in October holding the company responsible of defective service and unfair trade practice. The company was given a month to pay up.
