Mukesh Ambani, Sunil Mittal differ on 5G rollout timelines in India

NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and Bharti Enterprises chairman Sunil Mittal differed on 5G timelines in India, while speaking at an industry event on Tuesday. While Ambani backed immediate policy measures to fast track the implementation of next generation technology, Mittal called for gradual adoption spread over the next two to three years.

Addressing the India Mobile Congress on Tuesday, Ambani said Jio will pioneer the “5G revolution in India in the second half of 2021,” backed by “indigenously-developed network, hardware and technology components.”
