More people are using Facebook now than ever before, reveal numbers
The ongoing lockdown due to coronavirus has turned out to be beneficial for Facebook. Due to the lockdown, the social networking giant saw a surge in user growth.
Facebook reported that it saw an increase of more than 1.73 billion daily active users in March. The company revealed this data in its first quarterly earnings for 2020.
“Our community metrics, including Facebook DAUs and MAUs and Family MAP and DAP, reflect increased engagement as people around the world sheltered in place and used our products to connect with the people and organizations they care about. We expect that we will lose at least some of this increased engagement when various shelter-in-place restrictions are relaxed in the future,” said Facebook.
On the other hand, Facebook also said that it experienced a significant reduction in the demand for advertising as well as a related decline in the pricing of the ads, over the last three weeks of the first quarter of 2020.
