A committee of the department of telecommunications, headed by its special secretary Rita Teaotia reviewed the recommendations of Administrative Reform Commission (ARC) related to DoT. During the review, it was noticed that there is no mechanism for dealing with the complaints related to private telecom service providers. DDG (PG) proposed for single window clearance, but Ms Teaotia sidelined the issue.

However, during the review meeting it was decided that WPC’s web site will be merged with DoT’s web site. It was also decided that an RFP will be invited for conducting the social audit of USO Fund schemes. The relevant extracts of this meeting is reproduced herein for our readers.
