Microsoft’s new Xbox Family Settings app lets parents manage children’s gaming

Microsoft has announced the preview of a new Xbox Family Settings app for Android and iOS that gives parents more control over their children’s gaming activity on Xbox consoles. The app allows parents to customise over 20 settings on Xbox from the duration for which the Xbox games will be accessible, manage what games they can play, multiplayer functionality and even with whom they can play and communicate.
The Xbox Family Settings App also lets parents generate and check daily and weekly activity reports to understand better how their children are spending time on Xbox. In its official blog post, Microsoft has highlighted four important features of the app, including Screen time limits, Content filters, Play and communication settings, and Activity reports.
The Screen time limits feature allows to set usages limit for the day with an option to allow more time in case needed. Content filters option sets filters based on the age. Play and communication settings put a tab on the access to play and communicate with other players or only allow them to play with players in the friend list, which can also be managed using the app.
