Microsoft tops in corporate accountability, says report
NEW DELHI: Microsoft is the top-ranked company for implementing key policies and practices affecting privacy, online freedom of expression in the internet and mobile ecosystem, according to the 2019 Ranking Digital Rights (RDR) Corporate Accountability Index, released on Thursday.
Telefonica, the Spanish company headquartered in Madrid, is the top-ranked in the telecommunications category in the same report. The only Indian company to make it to the list is Bharti Airtel, which is placed eighth in the list of 12 telecommunications giant with an overall score of 16.
According to the report, Bharti Airtel “disclosed little about its policies and practices affecting freedom of expression and privacy, and lacked disclosure of governance and oversight over human rights issues.”
