Microsoft Teams to support up to 1,000 participants soon, confirms company
Software and cloud computing giant Microsoft is soon going to increase the limit for video conferencing from 300 to 1,000 participants, the company confirmed this through its Microsoft 365 Roadmap plan.
The description simply states, “Hold interactive meetings with more attendees—up to 1,000.”
Even though there is no expected date of launch, the tentative release date is set to be December 2020. The feature is listed to be under development from July 2020.
Back in August, when Microsoft had announced a new Advanced Communications plan, which could be added to any Microsoft 365 or Office 365 paid subscription, the company rolled out the support for up to 20,000 participants in a view only live event mode.
During Microsoft’s earnings call with investors from last week, CEO Satya Nadella announced that Teams has crossed over 115 million daily active users.
