Microsoft extends support for older versions of Windows 10

Microsoft has announced that is going to provide the support for some of the older versions of Windows for another six months, the company announced on its support page.
“As a member of the global community, we want to contribute to reducing the stress our customers face right now. To that end, we have delayed the scheduled end of support and servicing dates to help people and organizations focus their attention on retaining business continuity,” said Microsoft.
The company was supposed to end the support for Windows 10, version 1709 (Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise) today with a final update but now that will be released on October 13, 2020.
After that, the company was supposed to roll out the final security update forWindows 10, version 1809 (Home, Pro, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations, IoT Core) on May 12, 2020 but that will now be released on November 10, 2020. Microsoft is also temporarily pausing initiated feature updates for Home and Pro editions running on version 1809. The rollout process restart will be dramatically slowed and closely monitored in advance of the delayed November 10, 2020 end of service date to provide adequate time for a smooth update process, said the company.
