Microsoft recently unveiled the AutoDiscardSleepingTabsEnabled policy, which will further enhance the resource management capabilities of its Edge browser. By introducing the concept of Sleeping Tabs, Edge effectively minimises memory consumption while preserving open tabs in the background. The new policy aims to take this optimisation a step further by automatically discarding tabs that have been inactive for more than 1.5 days.
