Microsoft disrupts botnet Necurs; 14% of all infected IPs were from India

New Delhi: Technology giant Microsoft said on Thursday that the Redmond headquartered company and its partners across 35 countries has disrupted one of the world’s most prolific botnets, called Necurs, which had infected more than nine million computers worldwide.

The coordinated legal and technical steps led to the disruption which is the result of eight years action and will ensure the criminals are no longer able to execute cyberattacks through the existing network.
