Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says this ‘fear’ kept Google, Apple together
Google is facing an antitrust case in the US. The US Justice Department is claiming that Google illegally cemented its monopoly in online search by paying to be the default search engine on browsers such as Apple’s Safari and Mozilla’s Firefox, as well as on the home screen of smartphones.
The case saw one on Monday (October 2) saw Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella take stand to testify in the case. Nadella talked about Google’s dominance in the search engine market and the competition Bing faces. He also talked about how Microsoft’s plan to become Apple’s default search engine did not go well.
When asked whether Microsoft tried to become Apple’s default search engine, Nadella said yes but added that the conversation did not go well.
