Microsoft asks SMEs to upgrade PCs for improved productivity
Microsoft India group director (Devices) Farhana Haque urged small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to upgrade their computers that are over four years old in order to bring down the annual expenditure.
In a meeting with its partners and the media to bring awareness among the SMEs, Ms. Farhana said that 30% of the SMEs in the country are still using personal computers that are older than four years while 61% of the PCs being used by SMEs are still running older versions of Windows, citing a survey report by Microsoft and Intel.
She said 60% of India’s total GDP would be derived through digital products by 2021, and personal computers are at the centre of the production engine for SMEs.
