Micromax co-founder to make AI-based electric motorcycle

Rahul Sharma, one of the co-founders of homegrown mobile handset maker Micromax, on Thursday introduced an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based electric motorcycle that will hit the roads in June this year.

“I have always wanted to get into the smart mobility sector. I had even met many global players to foray into the segment…[and] also considered investing in some of the existing companies making electric vehicles, but it did not materialise,” Mr. Sharma said.

With the new venture — Revolt Intellicorp Pvt. Ltd. — Mr. Sharma is eyeing a double-digit share of the Indian market in which over 21 million two-wheelers are sold annually. The firm is wholly owned by him. Mr. Sharma had started the venture with personal investment of about Rs. 500 crore.
