MG to fix software in 14k Hector SUVs, after CoP failure

NEW DELHI: The Morris Garages India will carry out reflashing or remapping of a software in around 14,000 DCT BS6 variant of Hectors after a government-owned testing agency found that samples of this model failed in the conformity of production (CoP) tests.

Sources said the International Centre for Automotive Technology (iCAT) at Manesar in Haryana conducted tests on some of the samples picked up from the company’s factory for testing. They added the vehicles did not clear the CoP tests vis-à-vis the type approval for the engine for this variant. Sources said the tests found variations in HydroCarbon and NOx emission.
