MediaTek launches Helio G96, Helio G88 chipsets

NEW DELHI: Taiwan’s fabless chipmaker MediaTek Thursday launched two new Helio G System-on-Chipsets (SoC)–the Helio G96 and the Helio G88–focused on enhancing the display and photography capabilities of smartphones.

The MediaTek Helio G96 SoC supports 120Hz displays with up to full-HD+ resolution. It has an octa-core CPU with two Arm Cortex-A76 up to 2.05GHz, with support for LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage.

It has no limitation in Display Driver IC (DDIC) supply, C-phy, or D-phy interface, and supports both LCD or AMOLED display.
