MediaTek launches Dimensity 8300 5G chipset with genAI capabilities

NEW DELHI: Taiwanese fabless chipmaker MediaTek Tuesday launched the new Dimensity 8300 chipset for premium 5G smartphones with a focus on generative AI capabilities, energy efficiency and connectivity.

Smartphones powered by the Dimensity 8300 chipset will launch in the market before the end of this year, MediaTek said.

The Dimensity 8300 is based on TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process, and has an octa-core CPU comprising four Arm Cortex-A715 cores and four Cortex-A510 cores built on Arm’s v9 CPU architecture. It is paired with the Mali-G615 MC6 GPU.
