MediaTek launches chips targeted at India’s smart homes

MediaTek India on Friday launched two new system on chips (SOCs) featuring a range of architecture designs, aimed at creating smart homes across the country. The chips will be accessible across in the Internet in the fourth quarter of this year.

“With solutions that power innovation and drive productivity, we are helping customers capitalize on the next technological shift,” said Kuldeep Malik, Country head of MediaTek India in a statement.

One of the key advantages of the new products are low power efficiency which can create an eco-friendly environment, seamlessly connecting a smartphone to smart home functions. The functions can used for home appliances, smart gadgets, home automation, and cloud connectivity.
