Managers of Apple device maker, Foxconn said to make $43 million by selling iPhones made of rejected parts
Apple’s one of the biggest device manufacturer partners, Foxconn is in the headline for a massive fraud by its managers that is said to net around NT$1.3B or around $43 million over the matter of three years. The Foxconn managers are said to pull this massive scam solely by selling Apple iPhones made out of rejected parts or defective components. As reported by Taiwan News website, the Foxconn managers at the Zhengzhou facility were able to obtain and assemble iPhones using flawed parts. As a part of a normal procedure, the defective components would have been destroyed.
Although the details are not clear yet, however, the report states that the team responsible for destroying the defective parts, were involved with other Foxconn managers to sell defective iPhones. It has been added that Apple is aware of the issue and fruit company has launched a formal investigation. The investigation is said to be spearheaded by Apple’s Business Assurance & Audit (BA&A) team that reports directly to the company’s board of directors.
