Man with Govt official’s fake ID held
The Delhi Police has arrested a 21-year-old man who allegedly created a fake ID of Pay and Accounts officer (PAO) in Government of India’s Public Financial Management System (PFMS) with objective to siphon off money from the Government’s account through fraud bills.
According to Anyesh Roy, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Cyber Crime, earlier, the accused Noor Mohammad, a resident of Moregaon in Assam, along with his associates, had managed to successfully create and get approved, a fake ID of PAO Officer in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and managed to fraudulently create bills and thus, transfer money to the tune of Rs 3.86 Crores to multiple bank accounts.
“He came out on bail a few weeks ago and decided to commit a similar offence again as he thought that he wouldn’t be caught this time,” said the DCP
