Man cheated of Rs 42 lakh on pretext of part-time job of ‘liking YouTube videos’

A private company employee was allegedly cheated of Rs 42 lakh by unknown persons in Gurgaon, police said Monday, adding that he was asked to engage in a part-time job “by liking YouTube videos”.

According to police, the accused sent a message on March 25, informing the victim about a part-time job and later was asked to shift to another social media app.

The victim, Manoj Kumar, a Gurgaon resident, claimed in the complaint: “I got trapped in an online payment on March 25 and 26. On March 24, I received a message… about a part-time job for liking YouTube videos and completing prepaid tasks of cryptocurrency.
