Maintaining Cyber Immunity is as difficult as combating Covid-19: RIL CISO

Creating a cyber immunity works very similar to how immunity is built by the human body to fight a disease like Covid-19, Durgaprasad Dube, Senior VP & Group CISO at Reliance Industries pointed out while speaking at the ETCISO Annual Summit 2020.

“Various aspects of human immunity could be mimicked into cyber immunity. As the human body has to fight threats like virus, bacteria, toxins, an enterprise’s whole digital system faces threats such as phishing, social engineering, and vishing,” said Dube.

Humans–being surrounded by threats all the time–don’t fall sick every day and that’s because of the immunity. Immunity is the ability to resist infections or diseases. Similarly, the effectiveness of the cyber immune system (CIS) can also be enhanced. Infosec leaders are always on the lookout for improving security.
