Long term outlook for telecom industry positive despite capex slowdown: Sanjay Kaul, Cisco

Even with the capex slowdown hitting the telecom industry this year, IT and networking major Cisco is bullish on the long term growth prospects of the industry. In a conversation with ET’s Tina Gurnaney, Cisco’s Sanjay Kaul, head of Asia Pacific & Japan, service provider business shared that the industry could expect positivity post the next couple quarters. Which areas is Cisco currently focussing on in India to drive growth?

If you take a bird’s eye view on Cisco, we are currently investing and focusing on five core domains. The first is next-generation mass scale routing and switching, for Service Providers (SP) and enterprises. In this area, we have a dominant market share in India and worldwide and we continue to lead the innovation curve in SRV6, telemetry and automation.
