London-based GSMA felicitates Bharti Enterprises founder Sunil Mittal

Kolkata: London-based GSMA has honoured Bharti Enterprises founder and chairman Sunil Mittal for his contributions to the global mobile industry and for leading the organisation’s board as chairman for two years (2017-18).

In 2017, Mittal became the first Indian to chair the powerful global telecom industry board.

The GSMA felicitated Mittal at its board lunch, which was followed by a reception and welcome dinner on February 24 in Barcelona, on the eve of Mobile World Congress 2019. The glittering event was attended by King of Spain Felipe VI, GSMA board members and other industry leaders.

“The GSMA is critical to our industry, and as chairman of the largest mobile industry body, it was a great opportunity to steer the organisation and play a constructive role in contributing to its growing impact on the wider digital ecosystem,” Mittal said in a statement Monday.
