Lightning will not strike again: Apple retires its last iPad with home button, headphone jack

Apple has launched a bunch of new iPads after a long gap. The iPad Pro 2024 brings an OLED display and Apple M4 silicon, while the new iPad Air gets you a pro-sized display for cheap. The company also updated its “entry-level” iPad range dropping the price of the tenth-generation model and killing off the ninth-generation version altogether. Many had expected that the iPad 9 would get the axe after the launch of the iPad 11—which as per reports isn’t planned before the end of 2024—but clearly, Apple was on another tangent.
