Ligado, Mavenir to develop base stations for 5G mobile satellite network

NEW DELHI: US-based satellite communications (satcom) company Ligado Networks said it has joined hands with Mavenir to develop base stations for 5G mobile satellite network for the Internet of Things (IoT) that it will deploy for business-critical operations in the United States and North America.

Ligado said its 5G satellite IoT network will support mobile devices powering critical machine-to-machine (M2M) communications for businesses requiring ubiquitous, continental coverage.
