Liberal captive network policy may “resurrect” design and manufacturing ecosystem: Domestic firms

NEW DELHI: Homegrown telecom technology companies led by the industry group Voice of Indian Communication Technology Enterprises (Voice), have sought a liberal policy to set up private or captive telecom networks to facilitate domestic design and manufacturing ecosystem in the country.

“A liberalised policy on setting up captive private mobile networks can be a game changer that can resurrect the domestic design and manufacturing ecosystem,” Voice said, adding that a move for direct allocation of spectrum would “enable significant opportunity” to innovate and create prudent use cases.
