LG introduces its first 5G-enabled smartphone, unveils G and V series

World’s first smartphone with hand ID

LG Electronics on Monday introduced its V and G series flagship smartphones – “V50 ThinQ 5G”, the company’s first 5G-enabled smartphone with dual screen, and the “G8 ThinQ”, the world’s first smartphone with advanced palm vein authentication or Hand ID.

The devices were unvieled at the MWC (formerly known as the Mobile World Congress) on Sunday in Barcelona.

Phone specifications

“V50 ThinQ 5G” features dual screen, designed to resemble a cover case that opens up to give “owners a second 6.2-inch OLED display for double the viewing, gaming and multitasking experience”.

“The dual screen display and the LG V50 ThinQ 5G can be used independently,” the company said in a statement.
